Today was a bit different. We got going quickly (for us), packed up and had breakfast in Esperance. Then to a roadside stop on the Melbourne side of Norseman for the night.
The cafe (Cloud 11) was in a very '60s besser block building. They have done a great job doing it up and they do great breakfast bagels (so Gail says) and the scrambled eggs aren't bad. They also understand Melbourne coffee!
We left early as it was supposed to rain. It seems that didn't really eventuate, but our roadside stop was next to a saltpan. We had probably 5mm of rain that made it look full. By morning it was mostly empty again. The rain didn't continue all night and we had a settled night away from the road. The nice thing about the Eyre Hwy is that it isn't constant traffic and the trucks seem to abate at night.
