Today we went to the Moon - well sort of: Carnarvon has a space history museum celebrating the station’s contribution to the Apollo missions in the ‘60s
We both remember being in Primary school and watching the first man walk on the moon. Black and white TV, men at Mission Control with ties , white shirts and hats, computers with memory measures in kB. What was new was discovering that Carnarvon was staffed by imports (mostly English) either Aussies weren’t trusted, or there weren’t enough with skills.
